Kristina Hammond
Biography
- Kristina grew up in Monmouth, Illinois.
Monmouth is near Galesburg and about half an hour from Burlington, Iowa.
Bishop Hill is also close by,
and was one of the original Swedish settlements in the United States.
- Kristina went to DePauw University,
a small liberal arts school in Greencastle, Indiana,
where she majored in
Mathematics and Political Science.
Kristina then went to law school in Champaign/Urbana, Illinois.
As a result, Kristina is now a lawyer,
but she's a nice person anyway.
Much of her work has been research and writing.
A particular interest is in appellate law.
- Kristina's family includes her husband
Todd and their four children,
Mia, Nils, Emma, and Elsa.
They live in Kirksville, Missouri.
- Kristina occasionally does some freelance lawyering
and translations from Swedish.
Hobbies
- Kristina is an enthusiastic Swedish folk fiddler and singer.
She studied in Sweden with
Kalle Almlöf, Jonny Soling, Björn Ståbi,
Anders Rosén, and Maria Röjås, among others.
- Kristina enjoys remodeling and gardening, and hopes someday to
finish the woodwork in the house and to grow a wildflower meadow.
- Other hobbies include weaving, knitting, and sewing and trying to
stay a half step ahead of a litany of child-induced disasters.
